are 01+ 28lb injectors sufficient for H/C? I am doing a h/c install, the parts finally arrived today, I am using 01+ 28lb injectors in my 00 z28. Should 28lbers be good for a torquer v2 and TSP stg 1.5 5.3 heads? Or should I get something else?

stock injectors good for up 480rwhp? Thats seems completely unrealistic... seems like most guys run into their stock injectors hitting 95% cycle duty after mild h/c at around 420rwhp... besides if you can help it you want your injectors running around 80... look up Racetronix for some help on injectors.

I think that's for M6 cars. Auto's exspecially stalled autos dynos will be alot lower and IMO should consider injectors when around 430rwhp. Either way your tuner will be able to tell you when they look at your tables when tuning.

Don't take that number as fact anyway. My injectors on my 99 went static (100% DC for you n00bs) at 6100 and my cam doesn't peak until 6500.. and that's with mildly worked 243's. There's no way that car is pushing 480rwhp right now.

I ran 98 injectors on a 470 rwhp setup for 3 years with no problems. Built 4-5 heads/cam setups this year in the 450+ range with stock injectors and no problems.
You do not need bigger injectors for a heads/cam swap unless it's a max effort 346 (Trick flows, FAST, huge cam, etc etc etc)

I was wondering the same thing I got some summit 30lbs in there right now but I'm suppose to get some 42's right before I get on the dyno I just want to hit 400. The guy thats suppose to give me the 42's might flake on me though so I'm hoping to be able to get to 400 with my current setup and the 30's

As far as injectors go, going from 28lb injectors, to 30lb injectors give you a 7% increase, meaing at the same power level, you're duty cycle would only decrease by 7%, so if you're at 100% duty cycle, then you'd still be at 93% DC with the 30lb'ers. With 36lb'ers you have a 28% increase in capacity, and with 42lb'ers it's a 50% increase in capacity.

^Listen to this guy he knows his ****, I had a 02 z28 A4 heads, cam and stall and if I remember correctly the stock 28s were at 90 something duty cycle and Straightline recommended 42 pound injectors. The new owner put 42s in there and the car runs excellent now. Get some 42 pound injectors!

i would have to disagree.. My 02 Trans Am has stock 28.8# injectors. With my CAM ONLY set up i am making 415RWHP. My duty cycle with my stock injectors is ay 98%
At 108% it spraying all the time.OP, i would upgrade to 42# injectors, that is what i am going to be doing

On my '02 H/C w/stock fuel system, the injectors were going 100% @ 6450 (just below peak, 400rwhp) and were at 85% at 5600. I just installed a racetronix pump and harness thinking a volume/pressure problem but haven't scanned it yet to see if that solved it. If not I'll stick bigger injectors in it.
