HP Tuners/Warranty Questions
Sorry if this is newbish but here goes...
I have the 100k powertrain warranty on the GXP.
I want to get a new downpipe, and get HP tuners and learn how to tune.
My question is: If I save a copy of my stock tune and re-load that file before I bring the car in for warranty work, will the service techs be able to tell that I tuned the car and then reloaded the stocker and invalidate my warranty?

Often times they can tell that you previously had a non-stock tune installed even though you have since put the stock one back and it's something they look for. I've even seen a bulletin of sorts telling the techs what to look for, I'm sure it's posted somewhere around here. So depending on what type of warranty work you're taking it in for they could deny the work.

yes, with using hp tuners, they will be able to tell...
the 08 GM computer system software is different than say, 06's... they have algorithms/functionality in them now that check for specific values across multiple control modules to get a valid checksum number...
that capability/functionality was not present in 06 vehicles, so there was no worry then...

ah crap, that's what I was afraid of.
I guess I'll just have to wait out the warranty then.
I can see my tranny blowing up and a dealer trying to find any way out of it..."oh your shift points were changed, that's why it failed"
