Default shift point:hotcam,m6,4.10s

Well I'm wondering if someone has messed around at shifting different RPMS for getting the best time out of this setup. I set the shift light on the tach at 6200 yesterday, but I'm not sure its still pulling all that strong? Peak is what like 5800? I'm off to the track Saturday, just looking for some advice. It will be my first time with the new motor, I'm already shocked at how I can't just jump on the throttle in 2nd like I could with the stock motor.

Merv I'm sure you will probably read this, what were you shifting it at?

I would say 6300-6500, but testing this at the track will be the best test.

did you dyno tune the car? have a graph?

No, it was a mail order tune. I wish I had a graph to look at.

PNYKLRTA well pretty much I'm on shitty street tires(Riken Raptors). If I'm not careful after the 1-2 shift they easily go up in smoke(actually these Riken's have never actually smoked.). Tons of wheel spin. It wasn't bad when I was just messing around with it yesterday, then I ran my friends S R T 4, and well even though I beat him I was freaked out by the possibility of oncoming traffic, so I buried it too soon, spinning a lot. Track on Saturday though, no stress and will have slips to compare.

Kinda unrelated to my original post, but this thing kinda runs like garbage at part throttle under 3.5k rpm or so. Any ideas? Anytime throttle is applied its happy, but at 25-45 mph in the lower rpm range its pretty damn rough.

I was shifting at 6100..you might have a little bit of a rich fuel trim in them part-throttle RPM ranges with the tune you have, mine ran really good all the time.

what psi are you running your rikens at? the best i got with the 275 40s i had were sitting on 12 lbs. shifting at about 6-6200 and easin into the gas i pulled like a 2.2 which i know isnt all that good but for my M6 and my 383 thats the best ive got. ive seen as bad as a 3.2 with my rikens at full 40psi and dumping the clutch and spinning through the 1/8th. lol but like i said 12 psi. pull around the water back up (not in the water) and dump the clutch to get a quick little spin (NO POWERBRAKING) and they should be warm enough to hook and all the rocks and crap off them. just my .02$
