Default Alternator Relocate kit???

So has anyone relocated their alternator? I'm tearing into my motor here soon and I want to move that ugly P.O.S. Who makes a relocate kit and are they reliable?

also interested, i heard the only way to relocate it is to delete the PS and AC, i'm not really wanting to do either right now. I think speed inc was working on one that u didnt have to delete either but i remember reading it was going to be like 500 or something, i'll pass on that one.

not $500, but still not cheap

ALT/PS

$400 shipped in satin
$435 shipped in polished

ALT ONLY

$200 satin
$225 polished

quality parts do not come cheap and overall for what you get this is a good price

take a look through the thread for pics and some happy customers

Well besides looking cool what is the point if any???? Is there another reason for it?
I kinda like the alt on our cars. They look tough compared to what you normally think one looks like.

Ok so let me see if I'm understanding this correctly...to just relocate the alt. it's 200 or 220 depending on the finish??

I bought a aftermarket hood and it rest on top of mine. Plus along with my head and cam swap I'm putting on a new intake mani and some nice chrome valve covers and the alternator looks like poop IMO. Plus it opens it up real nice with it down below..easier to work on. I believe "Merv" has this modification done and it looked pretty sweet!

I am surprised no one has a kit to put it in place of the air pump. then you could keep ac and ps

I would be VERY interested if you would make a mount to move the ALT low on the Drivers side (like the LS1) so I can keep my PS & AC. I was planning on designing and having a mount built myself, but if you could make one I might just buy it.

The kit that's on the front of my engine that I posted pics of in your other Alt Relocation kit thread is made by Street & Performance. They make a kit that has the Alt and P/S pump in the same positions as my kit, but with an A/C compressor mounted down low below the Alt on the passenger's side.

The ONLY reason that I didn't end up buying the Alt, P/S, A/C kit from them is because their kit mounts the A/C compressor down low enough that it would hit the 4th gen k-member. But I'll admit, I've always wished that there would have been a solution available at my time of purchase that would have allowed me to keep the A/C.

If you were to design a relocation kit that would allow for ALL of the original accessories to be retained, I'd ditch the Street & Performance kit I have now in a heartbeat.
