Default Question about 42 LBS SVO injectors

Question about 42lbs SVO injectors?

I have been dealing with a little detenation issue under load at mid to high RPM 4200-6500. Engine spec are in sig, CP ratio is 10.8 to 1 ,AF ratio is 12.5 to 10.8 between 4200-6500 at full load. Total timming is 27 DEG. I have a wet nitrous kit but I have not sprayed on the motor yet because of this issue.

A guy from a performance shop stated that the 42LBS SVO's are known for causing this issue based off the fuel pattern they spray which causes excess fuel around the rings which leads to the detenation and recomend i go to fast or some other aftermarket injector. I have never heard of this or seen this talked about so i figured id ask some people here before droping another 300+ on injectors.

If your air fuel is going 10.8 N/A that could be your problem even with your Nos you shouldnt be that rich.

I've never heard heard of that issue either and I have tuned dozens of sets of those injectors. They seem to work very well actually.

Why not lower your timing a bit, get your AFR sorted out and then go back to working on the timing?

I agree totally. The old Bosch Design II is a very good injector.

Thanks for the help, i didnt think the injectors were the issue, i'll get the A/F worked out and than try adjusting the timming a little.
