Paint & Body Work - Shaved Door Handles: Yay or Nay. Lets see some pics.

I am considering shaving off my door handles but i have never seen 93+ fbodys with this modification.

Shaving the door handles would make a fbody look very sleek and clean IMO.

I did it to my bagged Tacoma and it was sick. I liked to pop the door open for chicks... lol Do it, and you post pics.

I think most tracks have a rule that they won't let you touch the track unless you have handles, so if you've got dreams of time slips, I wouldn't do it, but if your ride will never see a closed curcuit, go for it! I want to see how it looks! I want to shave my fuel door and antenna. I already shaved the front license plate cover! I like my cars like I like my women...SHAVED!!! ;)

I am doing tons of body work to my camaro right now. I already shaved my antenna and smoothed out the quarter panels. Now its time to work on the doors.

i shaved my key holes on both sides cause someone fucked up my car with a screw driver while i was at work. and i also didnt want to pay big bucks for new doors or to get the hole fixed.

how did you do that?

well the key holes were already punched out, so i put a piece of tape inside the door panel on the backside of the hole and used bondo to fill it in, sand it down until it was flat. then i would relay bondo down to fix imperfections and sand again. i did this process 4-5 times until it was good enough for my liking.

That little of a thing really makes that big of a difference. Well, it is white also.

Shaved door handles and gas door could look insanely clean... Or really out of place, lol.

I think that shaved key hole though. Subtle, but not, lol.

HEHE That would be the redneck way through it! I want to put the new fill cap in the channel between the weatherstrip and quarter panel up in the corner by the sail panel (where it's at it's widest). I'll use one of those caps that you don't need to remove and also add in a drain hole with a tube going out the bottom of the car in case of overflow. When complete, I'll just have to open the hatch to refuel and since it's outside the weatherstrip, I won't have to worry about the fumes. Not only do I get a clean look, but I also get a 'locked' gas door! :D

i was going to shave my door handles when i shaved my antenna, but the fact that the doors are fiberglass held me back from doing it. didnt want to worry about them cracking later on down the road

did mine, pics in sig. I did it for the same reason 1fast filled his key holes, damn thieves. They twisted out my key cylinders, then they tore my handles out. So I turned a bad thing into a good thing, atleast I tried to. It's been several years with no complaints.
