Where do I buy a new vented GM opti? (searched)
So I was looking and searching around, but I am not going to buy a gay ebay opti. I want a new-in-box GM opti but I just don't know where the hell to find them. Some people say thepartsladi on ebay but she hasn't had any lately and I looked thru a couple of vendors but they only have MSD ones. And I really don't feel like paying $350 for one from Summit.

I know that, but I'm looking for a vendor on here, I'm comfortable spending $$$ but it's ridiculous to have to pay $100 over what I almost got one for a few days ago.

You don't have to pay to play. Especially when there are many people complaining of shitty MSD optis
You can get a GENUINE Delphi unit from ebay from thepartsladi. ONLY get one from that member.
I don't know why u say u can't find any...I found one right here:

Get the part number from your local GM dealer and punch it into this site. They sell genuine GM parts cheap.

I highly recommend before installing the new opti that you take it apart and replace the two plastic rivits (holding the metal piece onto the plastic rotor) with aluminum rivits and loctite the two screws holding the rotor on. Run a bead of RTV around the cap to seal it and you are good to go. It is not that difficult. You need a reverse torx socket (E4) to remove the opti cap or some people just get a torx head screw and grip it with pliers. The screws on the inside are torx head (T9).
I recently did some work on my car and while it was down, I decided to open up the opti. Sure enough, one of the screws holding the rotor on was completely out and the other was loose.
