Wonder if that was around the same time they dropped an LS1 into an 00-05 style Impala.

Makes you wonder why we only ended up with a 5.3 when they were able to shoehorn a 5.7 into the previous generation engine bay.

Too bad the AWD version of the 4T65 didn't end up in production. These cars would have launched like beasts.

Well, not that transmission, but the MH6 version of the 6T75 has virtually the same input torque rating as the MN7 version of the 4T65E-HD.

Maybe next time I have ~$15k in "mad money" lying around

So there isn't any other horizontally mounted GM transmission on a current/recent past vehicle made for AWD? That Versatrac tranny was never made at all? I wonder if Hydramatic could just make a few of them...

6T70 MH4 - maximum input torque 280 ft-lb (Saturn Vue with 3.5 vvt v6)
6T75 MH6 - maximum input torque 301 ft-lb (Buick Acadia with 3.6 dohc v6)
AF33-5 M45 - maximum input torque 245 ft-lb (Chev Equinox or Pontiac Torrent with 3.4 v6)
AF40-6 MXE - maximum engine torque 295 ft-lb (Saab 9-3 with either 2l ecotec turbo or 2.8 dohc vvt v6)
