Default Got my first 03 Cobra

Bittersweet actually, I love Cobras. Basic pullied 2.8, CAI, tuned and CB and he had DR's but we only went from a roll.

Ran into a beautiful Red 03 just driving around...I really don't drive my car that much so sometimes I take it out for 20-30 minutes to beat on it a little. The guy was behind me working hard cutting everybody off to get up with me thinking it would be an easy kill since I have the stock mufflers and the car is so quiet Im sure he thought it was stock.

We simply went from a 45ish roll and I left it in "S" mods and let the A6 downshift (takes a second) and he put about a fender on me from the hit but I just walked as the speed increased. We shut down at 130ish with me about 3 cars out but I think he could have done better. We caught the light a few minutes later (with traffic) and he was amazed since he thought it was stock. I told him my mods and he was ok with the loss. I told him about my KB Cobra and advised him to ditch the Eaton.

My current mods

Vengeance N20 cam 224/235/610/620/115 (no N20 yet though)
Vararam
Kooks 1 7/8's w/3" x 3" offroad
Ported TB
Ported LS2 intake
A6 tune (amazing)
Vengeance/COW tune

Its enough to get into the 11's @ 119-121 but it is really strong above 80-90mph, it impresses me with these few mods. The car rips from the line though so it would have been fun from a dig since he had dr's.

Fun race and I still love the Cobras!

Next few mods, my TEA heads, Ported FAST and 150 shot. Then a 408 w/ 200 shot and some fuel. I need another raise soon.

Nice kill. I'm sure he thought you were easy prey. Let's see if a 'Got killed by a C6' thread pops up on any Mustang boards.

They are excellent cars but start saving for a KB right away. Cars are getting stronger and stronger these days. Now with a KB, youre still good for 90% of the cars you will run across. Skip the ported eaton if you are really serious.

Love the cobras. Good kill. I want to race one, but I don't think I should till I get my juice.

Congrats man. I love killing 03/04 Cobras. They are like a box of Cracker Jacks. You never know what you are going to get until you rip into one.

Good kill

The kooks x pipe hooks up to the stock exhaust? If true that'd be cool, hard to justify 900 bucks for an axle back :/ Got any sound clips jay?

Yeah ported Eaton is a waste, you might as well do the KB to start. Or else you will end up eventually doing it and it costing more money!

Yes sir. The stock tailpipes are 2.5" and the Kooks are 3" all the way back right until the tailpipes, it necks down to 2.5.

Honestly, I can't spend a lot on a muffler. I may just get a Flowmaster CB (since they all add very little power) for a bit more sound but I feel "dirty and cheap" settling for a Flowmaster on a C6. I refuse to spend over $400 on 5rwhp.

Agreed. Make sure you can trap atleast 118+ before you run one, just in case. They have been as slow as 116 but as high as 123. You have been warned.

I think i am going the ported eaton route just because the KB is gonna pretty far down the road (at least 2 years). Gotta wait till i get outta college before i make that kinda money payment for a mod. Either way, a stage 3/4 ported eaton cobra is pretty damned fast...

No doubt! With all the big bore KB's and Whipples though, you can pick up a used 2.2 for under $2K and for the extra cash, you will have much more room to grow even keeping with the 2.2. You can only run 20lbs on pump gas anyway, so it's not a huge need to go much larger. 600+ rwhp is more than enough and you can always add some sauce when needed. Ask Unit.
