Well Uncle Sam will be giving back some of my income here soon and I will be using the doe for a 9" rearend. I am debating on whether I want to get a narrowed 9" or not. The reason being is because I want to run a 17X11 ZR1 in the rear on 315's if possible. I know a lot of you guys are running a 15X14 rim with your 9". I am curious what street rim/size/tire people are using and how it looks on the car. Thanks!

I don't have pics but if you narrow it too much your chance of running a 17x11 on a zr1 wheel will be out the window.

Once you narrow your rear-end you have to start changing the backspacing of the wheel you plan to install to compensate for the changed length. If not your wheel will either tuck inside the fender or rub against the inner fender.

I have a thread going in this section look for it there is some useful info on cutting down a rear vs leaving it stock length.

I would love to see pics of cars with narrowed rears and with the info attached on how much it was cut, If the stock suspension locations were still retained without offset suspension parts, wheel size, Width & Backspacing along with clearance that would be Awsome to get that info with the pictures.

Agreed. I would like to option on running an 15X14 rim at the track, but using a 17X11 rim on the street. I love the wide tire stance when looking at the car from the rear. There are a few rim makers out there that will build the back spacing on the rim to your choice. Its going to take some research on my part to find out what works best. Just wondering what other people are doing currently.

i think EPP said once that you can go 1" on each side without any issues.

Ive had 17x11s with 315s in the rear and am now running 17x10.5s with 315s and dont have any clearence issues. Stock width just did the BFH mof to the inner fenders.

I remember thinking about narrowing the 9" before I bought it but for my needs it just wasnt worth it.

I've had 17x11's w/315's on the car before and never had a problem with rubbing. 18's with 295 rubbed worst. I'm just curious if it can be done without a mini-tub and how the stance of the car sits.
