Default Expected gain w/ catback & headers?

I'm thinking about getting Pacesetter uncoated long tube headers/Y pipe with a Texas Speed catback. I tried searching, but couldn't find any sort of gains for this listed.

I'm a little tight on cash right now though, so I was also wondering if it would be worth it do just the catback alone and get the headers/Y when I can better afford it.

A third possibility is cutting off the exhaust under my car until I can afford it all at once. Has anyone done this? My friends have done this on their old Mustangs and they sounded awesome, but is there any other benefit to it?

don't worry too much about the catback, get the headers coated and you will be mad happy.

Agreed, you will not get nearly the gain unless they are ceramic coated. Not enough to make it worth the effort at least. As for power, id expect around 30 horse with full exhaust. give or take some. . .

CC help just a tad but not a noticable differance. They just look better and last longer and keep the heat down a bit in the engine bay.
I would say 30hp with a LTs and a Catback!
Look around tons of used headers and catbacks on the forums!!

Everyone I have talked to told me coated headers are purely for anti-rust/looks which doesn't matter for speed...

Agreed! With a nice exhaust set up and some long tubes you can expect around 30 ponies

Id have to agree 30whp is realistic. As far as non ceramic not being worth it. Iv personally never heard that.

Coated headers reduce heat inside the engine bay. When you get your uncoated ones, the paint will burn right off and they will look like **** and have surface rust, and your temps will be higher. Another cool thing is you can touch the coated headers ALOT sooner than uncoated, say if you wanted to do plugs, or saw one arcing or something. I had coated headers on my camaro and they kicked ***.

You can expect a gain of around 20+hp at the tire, get a tune also.

around 30 hp or so. but for there defense coated header keep the heat in the tubes which makes the exhaust easier to move out the back and increases savaging. you wouldnt ever notice tho i dont think

The coated ones look nicer and cool off faster but I don't think theres any noticable difference power wise. I got coated pacesetters just because I had uncoated ones previously and they looked gross after a bit.

yeah im with everyone else, probably around 30-35 hp depending if you got a factory freak if ur lucky. I also think you should get the ceramic coated headers to keep down the heat and they look a million times better. I got a buddy that has the painted ones and the paint came off pretty much and they look not so bueno anymore. If you dont get the ceramics then at least get them coated. good luck and post up vids after you put it all on so we can hear it.

I saw a before and after dyno, stock manifolds, stock CB to LT's, 2.5 inch TD's. 38rwhp, 22rwtq gain. But he also got a tune, well at least i think.

You can expect anywhere from 25-35rwhp with LT's, 3 inch CB, pcm tune.
