Default Vinci/Crane Handheld tuner question?

I have a Vinci/Crane handheld tuner for a 2000 A4 LS1. I have returned my car to stock as I am getting my car dyno tuned. If I sell it "as is" will the next owner be able to use it or do I need to send it to crane or vinci to get my VIN deleted off the handheld?

Thanks!

As long as your car has been returned to stock, it'll work for the next person. Good luck!

To the original poster, did you find this to be true? I was just about to post the exact same question Did a search and found yours I thought I had seen somewhere that you had to send it back anyways

I just hit someone up with HP tuners so I don't need my handheld any longer.

Upon further searching :
all the handhelds are supposed to unlock when you return the vehicle back to stock.

most get burned because the seller 'forgets' to return the tune back to stock.

the vinci/crane tuners unlock when you do a return to stock.
I am thinking it is accurate.

I was told either send it back to Vinci for $50 to ensure that it will work with another vehicle OR find someone with a 99+ LS1 and see if it works. Supposedly, if you return it to stock then you can transfer it to another vehicle.

I had one of these and used it on my car. Put mine back to stock and then used it on my Uncle's Z to show him the difference it would make on his car, and then sold it on this forum. Buyer was very pleased and had no problems. Just make sure you put yours back to stock and you should be golden.
