Ok now that I have your attn. , I have a friend who is good with fabricating and he says he can take a supercharger from a 3.8 thunderbird sc and make it fit on my 99 camaro SS ,can this be done?, I need actual facts on why it can or cannot be done please I need good technical info and not opinion he has the the same set on his carbureted sb chevy. Also how many pounds of boost does the superchargers on the thunderbird sc put out?

The Super Coupe's comes equipped with a 3.8 liter V-6 powerplant that is force-fed with an Eaton Corporation supercharger. The 8.2 to 1 compression ratio, combined with six computer controlled sequentially fuel injectors, completes the well rounded underhood package. While running at a maximum 15,600 rpm's, the supercharger provides 12 psi of boost and as a resultant it develops 210 bhp at 4000 engine rpm's. The engine develops 315 lb-ft of torque at 2600 rpm. The supercharged V-6 delivers ample power without much noise but an underdrive kit and a performance chip are available to boost the horsepower rating to 255 bhp.




Tell him we all wish him luck! Getting that to fit is just...well plain stupid. Its wayyy too small of a unit to do anything but restrict a healthy breathing LS1 motor

the M90 from a thunderird SC won't flow enough air to make 300 rwhp on a 3.8 ford engine, it will be a restriction on your setup. If you want to look at a stock blower, maybe a M112 from a 03-4 cobra would be better, but still unrealistic to apply to your vehicle.

Ya it'd probably work, but id wouldn't be ideal. A stock coupe puts out 12psig, most of those guys have different pullies and run 15lbs all day long. However if you take a supercharger that's designed to deliver efficent boost to a 3.8 you might find that your heating the air way too much because you're exceeding the capacity of the blower. I'm not a supercharger guy i do more turbos, but the principals are the same. If you're not taking advantage of the efficency of the blower your intake air temperature is going to skyrocket, meaning less power and detonation prone.

Other than that, sure it'll work great in a pinch.

It would work, but so would fabbing up a leave blower or hair dry into the engine bay...id say not worth the effort. Either look into getting a real kit or just spray it.
