Got a nice set of LS6 heads today...

Probably headed for a streetable solid roller setup next. Damn super-strokers just cost too damn much money.

I know a solid roller isn't cheap either, but it gets the pain level down to a tolerable level.

These heads ought to be ideal for a high-revving solid-roller 6-speed car don'tcha think?

Probably won't happen real soon, but I'd better start collecting parts now to ease the pain. I'll probably keep my current motor intact and sell it as a complete unit minus some accessories.

Not ported yet. I'm just happy to get my hands on a good set of cores at a decent price.

Jimmyz It looks like $600 to $800 would be a decent deal for complete bone stock core set in good shape. I've seen quite a few go for $1000. I got mine for $650 w/only 2k miles and in perfect condition.

NearFuture LS1 Owner These were from a warranty replacement motor that a friend of mine got from a local Chevy dealer....so no more to be had from this source.

Scotty, your current 346ci is plenty fast for what it is. I would *highly* recommend that you avoid building another 346ci setup and just putting those pennies towards more cubes. An all-bore 382ci with LS6 heads and a nice sized cam will be a ton more fun than a solid-roller 346ci setup. Torque is FUN. The guy that bought my previous 382ci setup put over 40K miles on it in one year with no issues. Thats nuts! I still think a 382ci with a small cam like a 224/224 is the perfect all-around daily driver NA setup. Power above that level is pretty useless on the street and you end up having to race part-throttle thru 3rd gear. It was more fun to floor it all the time

Tony,
I agree, since I intend to keep my car on the street as much as possible. I'm averaging 15k miles/year so far and would like to keep on going that way. I haven't really made any decisions since the cash isn't available right now anyway.

I'm just researching options and trying to learn as much as I can about these solid roller setups.

Besides, it's MUCH cheaper to swap setups in your head

As far as the big-bore resleeved blocks are concerned... is MTI working with the Darton sleeves and are they planning to offer it as an improvemnt over what they currently offer?
