Generation IV Internal Engine - BOOST 406 Noise sounds like lifter #4 cyl

Just checking if anyone has ran across this before.i just got a lq9 out of 2003 ss was built boost motor eagle crank rods je pistons 4.in stroke 4.020 bore.ran good no smoke guy took blower off traded truck in local dealer bought swaped out motor because of noise.pull #4 wire off motor got a little better sounds like lifter not building up have not pulled them out to see what they are motor was done right though arp everything.317 heads some port work very low miles also truck just had 35k on it motor from looks a lot less.my guess less than 10k.any ideals

Well start by taking valve cover off. Check plugs see how they look. Maybe a wire is not working maybe swap wires. Any codes, check misfires on each cylinder. Check compression. Check for broken valve spring ,check pushrods..Lots of things to check.

Motor is out of truck.i think i will change lifters and springs and put it in car to see what i think about it.
