Default optispark...

sorry guys I search and didn't find anything...so hopefully someoen can help me here...

I just installed my opti...went to fire her up and all i get is cranking, and a gun fire sounding pop out my exhaust....

any info will help?

is it a timing issue?? or is the opti junk??? please let me know!!!

I should also tell you I have a vented opti on my car...

sounds like the timing is off.

Make sure the Dowell is in the right Slot.

Talking about the Opti here before anyone take that one and spins it..

I had to replace all my spark plugs after my opti went out...it fouled all of them. Plugs are cheap..good luck

yes you most likely did

the dowel pin on cam needs to fit in the rectangle slot

It will still go together if it's not in correctly. Take a black perm. marker and make marks on the timing cover and the new dist so it's easier to line up the dowel with the slot.

thanks to everyone who helped out...I got it going also the opti cover wasn't tight enough had to tighten it...i really hate opti's ha ha...
