9" is strongest and doesnt weigh to much the s60 is real strong to but it weighs the most and has some hp loss from that and the 12 bolt well depending on power is still brakable but is stil strong

Debate that the 9 inch is stronger than the dana 60. Dana have 35 spline axles basic package and bigger ring and pinion. They are slightly heavier. The 12 bolts seem to get more whining after track use especially on m6 cars.

I am going Dana 60 and don't care about extra weight or if it uses a few extra hp up.
YMMV.

None of the above.

Midwest Chassis Fab 9 inch.

12 bolts make noise
Moser 9 inch is IMO not very good quality for what you pay for. This is the regular not the M9

S60: Why???

Why not dana 60. Bigger gear. 35 spline standard. So a bit heavier and so uses maybe 10 more hp or something. Why not. Especially on big power cars.

There is no reason to go with a S60 with the 2 fab 9inches avail with backbraces which again IMO would be a stronger housing vs a non back braced housing. Not talking gear strength the less flex under hard load the less stress on the gear assy no matter how big it is. That is one of the biggest issues with gear/axle failure is due to the tubes flexing under launches. Eliminate that with a fab 9 inch with a back brace. And if you think your housing does not flex good luck to you.

12 bolt- lightest 400+
9inch- anything making 600+
S60- 800+

that just my opinion, as you go down the list you get stronger/ heavier/ HP loss

The Moser M9 rear is the same weight as the 10 bolt, mine cut 1.29 60 ft times practically right out of the box on drag radials. Bob

Man that don't look like a good thing to go up that far think it would lose control and mabye flip right over like seen another one do.
Can you put wheelie bars on the car to stop it from doing that?

LOL! That pic is crazy!!!
I went with the S60. Supossedly it has the least amount of loss if all things were equal such as the same size axles etc as a 9". Should be the strongest(not that most of us will ever need it) 3 channel option, silent and fits the best wich doesnt require you to buy a new adjustable rear suspension set up or beat up you tunnel too much.
Not only that.............. you can get one new for less than 3k with DS installed!

No, it's not a good thing to do. It was filmed for a TV show with Lou Santiago. Bob

With problems ive heard from 12 bolt owners I wouldnt consider using one. Many ive talked to have said they while adn some have broken them.

The S60 is strong. I havent spoken first hand to any owners of one to tell the perfomance but I do know they are quite heavy.

The 9" IMO is the best all around. The Moser 9" is a bit heavy but is plenty strong for the abuse most of us would throw at it. that being said the M9 or the Midwest Chassis Fabbed 9" are the same weight without oil as a 10 bolt with oil so roughly 5-8lbs heavier than a 10 bolt and strong as hell. I am very happy with my 9".
