Default Remove AIR pump?

Hey I put long tubes on and i just ended up capping off the air and EGR stuff. someone told me i could remove the AIR pump. is this true? im just trying to figure out what i can remove before i do it so i dont **** anything up lol

I took everything associated with my air pump out. Metal line under the motor also. Only thing still there in the electrical connector hehe. Spare parts, give er' !

yes can unbolt it and all the retaining hoses and metal piping just the connector leave on.....

no it doesnt run off the belt, just pull everything out thats has anyhting to do with air/egr

Yes you will need to cap off the line that goes from the air pump into the cai intake tube. There is also a small fitting on the inatke manifold that has two vaccum fittings coming off of it. Trace all the vaccum lines from this and pull anything off that connects to it. One line will lead to the air pump in the front of the engine and the other will lead to the rear (near the egr) pull all of this off and you are just fine. I will take pics of what everything looks like for you if I can get my camera to work

remove everything and cap your headers. call it a day. cleans up alot under your hood too!

Then if you want to you can clip the Connector and clean that up too.

IMO dont cut any wires, just hide them away in case you sell the car and the next owner wants to bring it back to stock, you also wont run the risk of grounding out wires

Get rid of it. You can go to O'Reilly's and pick up an assorted vaccuum cap set for about $3 and it will have one for the air intake and intake manifold.

is there any performance gain with removing just the air pump?

its just a plug, 3 bolts, and an ugly tube that goes from driver to pass side under the oil pan.
