going to run a HX60. The HX55 is too small, will only give you loads of low end torque, and fade at the top end. (This on a 346 LS1..)

Um, if a h2d turbo can work on a ls1 engine and it is just like a hx40, and I have a H2E turbo, running at 12+ psi with no problems, and the H2E is just like a HX50, so what is SST talking about?? HMMM?? Go here first dude, www.junkyardturbos.com They show you that a LS1 Can and Will run with a Holset turbo.... And it don't have to be a big turbo unless you're shooting for 800+hp....
Just look at my avatar... Thats a HOLSET.......

I know what you mean, it works. However if you have a choice I'd go for the bigger H3E/Hx60. Over here we run a Hx80 on one Ls1, Spools 8psi at 2500rpm and 35+psi @ 3000psi. and this is B I G. It partly depends in how you build your exh. manifolds. If you keep the "N/A" tuning, this will be positive even when you mount a turbo.. Edit: This is a 6.0 but stock heads, lowered compression (pistons) and stock cam.

of course you can mount a Hx50, but on a LS1 I've been advised to go for mass flow instead of pressure. Hope you catch my idea..

Edit 2.
Remember; You have approx 350 N/A HP on a stock Corvette C5 LS1 to propell the turbocharger. I'm talking SINGLE turbo, but I guess you all do in this tread.. If the headers don't look like "hello, help me"...
Yep, a hx50 can deliver 700hp easily, BUT that would be at about 35-40psi. Read the compressormaps and it will be a litte bit clearer. Flow versus pressure, versus CFM.

i just dont want it to be slow off the line. are the turbos stock or do they have light weight wheels on them?
its just hard for me to get it, im used to screwing around "for what seems like forever" just to get the thing lit.
