Default Z0Sick!

My 01 ZO6 has had an issue where randomly it decides to not start or turn over or anything. All that happens is the security light flashes. and 2-4 min later my car will start. Ive had the collumn lock replaced and a new key cut and now it back at bangston chevrolet for the 3rd time. Does anyone here have any ideas as to what could be the matter?

Yeah my formula use to do that once in a blue moon. It was the chip in the key, just clean it with alcohol and it should work fine.

try replacing the computer the VATS sends a signal to (if its an anti-theft key like us f-bodys) it will be well hidden some where but if yer car has it it will be worth a shot to try an replace

Check the Ignition Cylinder. I had to replace mine when one of the prongs that reads the key broke off. It would do the same thing you are describing but would never start. Cost me $125 ($100 for IC - $25 for locksmith to switch tumblers) to replace it myself. The stealership wanted $550 just to look at it! They also wanted to flash my computer when they where done.
