Most will start PE Enrichment at ~13.4 AFR/2000rpm and richen it to 12.5-12.8 at peak TQ (~4800).

A few will then lean it out slightly from peak TQ-peak HP..I.E. 12.8-13.0 from 4800-6400rpms.

Many methods. Some just block out a single AFR for all rpm's.

In any case, I assume you have a wideband, and can monitor knock retard.
A dyno would let you tweak your curve quite easily.

Hope that helps.

Thats a pretty rich PE. If you still have your Catalytic Converter protection on, that will override PE in sustained WOT.

It can be disabled. That may explain your current PE AFR's.

Yes, Brighton, Colorado just up the street.

Small world. I see SLP4CamaroSS is from Lawton, OK. Spent time just down the road at Altus AFB, Ok., back in the day.

I am sure he will confirm that that EQ/AFR ratio (12.5-12.8) is a nice safe AFR ratio for WOT. Even adding a lid and cutout will add additional airflow to the engine. More air, more fuel.

Others can comment, but I believe the HP difference from a AFR of 12.5-13.0 is probably no greater than 3-5%. Thats a highly generalized statement, but staying slightly rich may be a little safer for your engine..don't want detonation.

Try it out. You should notice the engine will be a a little sharper and responsive, by safely and carefully leaning it out.

Let us know how it works out.

You don't tune PE. You set it to desired and tune the MAF/VE to get your actual AFR to match what is desired.

^ I think they are referring to tuning the PE after they have already tuned the VE/MAF tables for appropriate airflow for a constant PE.

Leaner is usually quite good, like 13.x BUT you might not be able to get your spark up to optimal MBT, so adding fuel can let you put more optimal timing in.
Best way to check all this out is on the dyno.
Having said that most go for 13:1 as a general rule NA.

comes up dam lean not shure if the table that slp wrote was
alittle to lean for my car or what but i think somthing not right.

Well, here is what I am running now:

RPM PE
2000 13.8
2400 13.5
2800 13.2
3200 13.0
3600 12.8
4000 12.8
4400 12.7
4800 12.7
5200 12.7
5600 12.8
6000 12.9
6400 13.0
6400+ 13.0

This is a little aggressive PE curve. I might recommend runner .2 - .3 richer for safety.

As to why you are running AFR's leaner than commanded could either be mechanical (injectors running out of fuel), or in your MAF calibration technique.

Not knowing exactly how you have your tune set-up, I would either contact a professional tuner, or post your tune and logs on this board and see where your problem lies.

I do not know how lean you are, but the cost of a new engine is not worth it.
