Default retarding the timing?

I have a mostly stock (few bolt-ons) C5... I am going to be spraying a 100-150 shot here shortly (currently installing my NX wet kit). Am I going to have to retard the timing? I'd rather not hurt N/A performance... whats the best way to go abouts this?

for a shot depending on where you have your timing now, i would drop it back some. if you are running the stock timing table, then you can run the 100 with no problems. for a 150, i wouldnt run more than 24 degrees of timing.

... and if I want to run the 150shot on stock timing, what octane should I use?

hard to tell. best way to know is on the dyno and log the pull and see. if you get knock, then take the timing down or put in some higher octane unleaded. you will more than likely have to upgrade the fuel pump to be safe on the 150 or at least i would.

Better consider a Timing Tuner from Ramchargers. It will retard your timing, and only do it when your nitrous system is charged. Its the best way to go, short of using LS1 Edit and switching files for NA and N2O.

I have heard some about some "problems" with the ramchargers unit. I suppose I will use ATAP at first and throw in some 114 and see what happens. BTW, I just ordered a Wablro 340...

dont use regular 114 race gas. the lead in the gas will fould your O2 sensors. find some unleaded race gas, or u will be seeing what happens when u spray with a bad O2 sensor.
