Pioneer 6900UB Deck and iPhone compatability
I have a Pioneer 6900UB deck in my Camaro which I always use with a USB jump drive. I am thinking about getting a iPhone finaly and I thought it would work just fine. But, I tried my buddies iPhone with a regular iPhone USB adapter and it charged the phone, but would not read the tracks at all.
I know there is a adapter sold specifically for the 6900UB deck to use with the iPod. But, it looks just like the regular iPod cable.
What gives?
Anyone use their Pioneer Deck with a iPod or a iPhone?

me... mine is hooked up through the ipod interface cable on my pioneer avic d3. SO BA!!!! a must have. as for the iphone, i dont have one so i am not sure, but my guesses are that it is like the ipod so the bottom 10 pin or whatever it is probably will fit and work the same way. if the iphone can dock like the ipod does then im sure it can.

i had the 6900ub and then I upgraded to this years model. but...in order to use the iPhone (original or 3g) you have to put the phone into airport mode if you plan on using the iPod features ONLY. on the other hand, if you're planning on using the bluetooth on the phone...then there's a way around putting the car in airport mode, i believe.

All head units require some sort of adapter to connect an iPod/iPhone - some are external (add-on) adapters and some are built-in. These adapters are usually made by the HU manufacturer so they integrate well and provide reliable connections. I wouldn't discount the capabilities of a HU/adapter combination for working with your iPhone just because you are concerned about using some "crazy *** adapter".
