Default Grand Prix tranny issues....

ok, its not a GXP, but my GF has a 07 GT Grand Prix and on the way to a friend's house, it starts making a noise like a baseball card in a bike spoke. We get to a friend's house and I look under it because I smell fluid burning. Turns out its trans fluid leaking from above the pan. I don't see any obvious problem and its semi-driveable, but I don't want to drive it the 120 miles back home. Has anyone else had issues like this with GP trans?

The car has 37K miles on it....GM has already tried to get out of the courtesy transportation aspect of this, so help me god if they think its out of warranty. That 5yr/100K mile powertrain warranty is gonna get used.

Make them tow it, it will be to their nearest dealer, but oh-well. Sounds to me like the pan gasket started to leak and was spraying onto the crossover exhaust pipe. Might save her trans! Good luck, and have them do all they should do!

No, I was actually driving it when it happened....we were just doing some city driving, I took off from a stop sign and heard a little pop, then got home and saw tranny fluid dripping out.
