Default TH-350/400 guys come on in

How do you like the swap? I am considering making the switch here in a few weeks since I killed another 4l60e. I was wondering what yall did as far as the spedometer and tune. I know alot of LS1 guys tap into the front ABS to get a signal. The main thing I am wanting to know is how much did your car pick up from the swap? I know that the th-350 is roughly 35lbs lighter (wet) than the 4l60e and takes less power to rotate, plus I like the idea of a transbreak and slightly cheaper convertors.

I do have a thread similar to this in the trans section but I am wanting to hear some testimonials from the LT1 people. Let me know what you guys think...

i posted in another thread a few minutes ago. i ran a stock 350 with a shift kit for 3 years in my t/a when it ran 6.4-6.5s (1/8th mile). it had a small leak and i drove it a couple times when it was low of fluid, which finally got it. i didnt bother with the speedo. i changed the rear gears around several times and found no e.t. gains/losses from a 3.42 to a 4.56. with less gear its alot more driveable. i noticed the torq. conv. made a big diff. over stock. i'd say with the 4l60 and stock conv. vs. a th350 and a 10" conv. was about .5tenths faster in the 8th mile.

My previous Z had a TH350/3000 stall. I had 4.10s in the rear and would drive it to the track which was ~35 miles one way. At 60mph it's turning around 3 ground and it can get a bit annoying. It really made it indesireable to drive daily for me. I have a built 4L60E in my current project and don't plan on going back unless I go over 700 hp. It's all in what you want and what your plans are with the setup.

I used to have a T56 and swapped to an ATI TH400 with a 4000 stall converter..... being that I pulled my car back a ton from street driving it was the best thing I ever did....

Even when i street drove my car I loved being able to run a HUGE cam and not have the motor/tranny bucking and chopping like when i had the stick.... it was a PITA to drive with a huge cam and stick..... put the TH400 in it and loved it. the stall ate up all the choppiness of the cam.....

TH400 is still in the car going strong sitting behind nearly 1000hp..... 1.38 60' times leaving on a small stage.....
