Hi everyone, I am in need of a part time job. I have a steady job, but am still coming up short when making ends meet at the end of the month. I'm in the IT field, but can do whatever to make a few extra bucks.

I never thought of that. I'll go give that a whirl. Anyone have any idea what kind of horrible pay scale they have? Minimum?

ups will beat the FUCk out of you, i heard it from some friends... you want a part time job that isn't going to be that hard, just a lil kick back hang out job, another good job is unloading fright trucks like at USF reddaway if you have skills with forklifts starting pay is like 11hr i think from 6-10 and maybe longer

Well I just dont have a life! :bang:

I also dont really have a choice anymore! Cuz my girl lost her job and when you got a 6 year old kid you have to keep food on the table. That will kind of motivate you. lol

It started as extra money to buy toys....but then became an obligation....thats when it started to really suck! :bang:

I just hope the economy comes back soon so my girl can get a job she cant get one right now. I feel like i have nothing to show for my hard work and it drives me crazy!

Well good luck to all of you on your job hunts...hope the economy turns around for all of us!

Its 12:30 here so i need to get to bed lol. Later guys

My girl is going to try and get me a seasonal job over at Toys R Us doing stuff like stocking shelves. It's only temporary, but at least it's something. It's less than 1/2 of what I am making hourly at my full time job, but it's at least a little something extra to make ends meet.

The economy has really gotten the best of me. I was making close to 6 grand a month before things got really bad with the economy and clients didn't want to pay big bucks anymore. Now I'm lucky if I make $2500 after taxes. Friggin sad.

I feel your pain. Trust meee. I used to come home with a minimum of 100 in tips from 3-11. Now ill b lucky if i get 50. I was getting the majority of my income from just tips. 1 month i got 3 grand (tips and paycheck) my chechs were close to 500. Then it started slowin down n i started runnin outta money. Kinda sucks cause valet is an easy ass job its just not enough nemore

well since i work at ups ill say this, yes ups is a pretty hard job but personally i think its worth it. UPS is always hiring and its real easy to get a job there, i get free health, dental, vision, payed holidays paid vacation and they pay for my school. All this and its a part time job. Plus since its union you work at your own pace. Only load side is hard at ups every other job is pretty easy i work at load side cuz it gets the most hours and cuz of the holidays im getting like 500 a week

I'm not sure that's even enough to fill up a lawnmower.

If you think about the fact that gas is so cheap now (~1.80 for 87 octane) If you have a beater honda or something, you can make a lil bit of a profit off that part of it as long as the deliveries are less than half the number of MPG your car gets. If you use a camaro or truck that gets crappy MPG around town then you'll lose money.

Hell a moped or motorcycle would net alot of extra pocket cash

LS1Adam84
12-03-2008, 05:45 PM
So... yeah I am not strapped I want extra cash, damn IT and almost 6k a month I am so totally in the wrong IT business I am an IT analyst and after taxes I bring in 2500 a month and have my own place and everything.

Once I actually get another car I will be looking at a part time job at nights cause shit i am bored most of the time during the week, living by yourself kinda sucks honestly.

The problem with finding a part time job when you have a full time job is a lot of places will consider you overqualified and pass you up for someone they feel "needs" the job more and will stick around. Most places don't want to hire someone who plans on quitting once their other job turns around or only plans to work for a set amount of time. Hell my bank manager acted surprised when i suggested that i "might" find a job somewhere else when i graduate from college over a year from now. I was kinda like, well with a degree in finance i would hope i could get paid more than $10.50 an hour?

look into security guard jobs. graveyard shifts are great. i worked at a theme park for like 6 months at one point in my life. i worked graveyard and we would switch off - one of us would disappear for a couple hours of nap time. full time pay while you sleep.

i'm sorry to have to break this to you, but if you have a turbo camaro, you won't get the job simply because they only hire people who don't know shit about cars.

i suggest you try telling them its a v6 with a flowmaster.

well only because its the holidays im double shifting and working sundays but when the holidays are over i go back to 30-32 hours a week.
