What's going on everyone? My name's Brandon. I just bought a 6sp. 1999 Pontiac Trans Am yesterday. Holy shit, I've wanted one of these since I was a kid and I finally got one. Anyways, I'm in the Marine Corps stationed at Camp Lejeune, having a blast driving this motherfucker. I've been an avid viewer of this site for years without owning a LS1 but now I've finally got one of my very own. Just wanted to say hey to everyone. Sorry if the post is kind of long.

Just signed myself up for the site. Although most times on Saturdays, I'll journey home to Raleigh where my family lives, I occassionally get stuck with the gay weekend duty as with this coming Saturday so I'll definitely try to make it out to some of the meets. I appreicate the heads up.

your first mod should be taking off the stock lid and removing the air silencer fins within. Pliers and dremel work wonders. Then there are to silencer chambers right before the MAF. Fill them with RTV gasket sealant and let it cure. Congrats. you have just picked up 5 horsepower for pretty much free. If your good with a dremel you can also port the TB. Heres a guide I ran into online if your interested.

Thats money best spent on a cam later on : D.

I also have wanted a 4th gen F-body for a while, and picked up my Z28 6 speed in July. Its a blast isnt it? It's also addicting. I have about 2 grand worth of parts sitting in my basement waiting for the car to come out of winter storage.

Yea, I just put a SLP lid and WS6Store short stick on this weekend with my dad and am ordering either a Pro 5.0 or MGW shifter this week along with probably Jet Hot LTs, Jet Hot removable cat Y-pipe, and some kind of cat back. That lid was a fucking bitch and a half to install though. Everything went well until I had to put the lid neck over the MAFH. My dad fucked up his hands pretty good sliding them on the MAF ends until he put on some gloves. In the end, it took some sanding on the lid neck and some CLP gun lubricant before it finally got in there. But I guess you could say it was fun? Definitely happy to get it done. Looking forward to putting more into it SOON.

congats on the car and no sweat on that lid, getting it on the MAF got me too, it took a heat gun and alot of patience to get that thing in there.
