Default Fixed fuel pressure or boost reference - Incon TT kit - 500-550rwhp

Hey guys,

Just trying to figure out if i need to run the boost reference regulator that comes with the Incon kit. I know at the time the kit was developed tuning was limited. It seems like just an extra hastle and one more thing that could potentially go wrong.

I plan to run 8psi or so and hope to make 500-550rwhp on a stock 98 LS1 6-speed car.

Currently i have a 255in-tank pump and 60lb Mototron Injectors.

I know this subject has been brought up before, but it seems most had a lot larger power goals in mind.

Thanks in advance

Zack

No real need for boost ref. at that level but it is ultimately up to your tuner. I would consult them first.

My tuner told me we could do it either way... didn't go into a lot of detail. I guess im just trying to figure out if there is any disadvantage at this power level.

Car is my daily driver and will probably get drove 10-15k miles per year, so is one is more driveable or reliable i will lean that direction.

I'd boost reference to keep the duty cycle lower on the injectors....just my preference ...plus you'll be ready when you add more boost....and you will add more boost.

With 60lb injectors would i be at a dangerous duty cycle?

When the time comes to crank up the boost, it will probably get some billet rails and a return style system done right... but for now i just kinda want to get it on there without the hastle of pulling everything back out of the tank (just put the 255 pump in a few weeks ago).

Not at a dangerous DC at all. It sounded like you were starting from scratch...and BF is the "best" way to do it IMO.

You'll be fine without BF if you're going to do it over later anyway.

Ok great, thanks for the info.

Yeah i will go back and do it right... 8an feed and 6an return... billet rails, and dual 255 pumps... but for now im just wanting to support the power it will be making NOW... max of 550rwhp
