Single Digit Club - 408 9's on motor. am i dreaming?

i know some light cars and some larger inch strokers are getting there pretty regular.
whats it gonna take at 3400# raceweight?
l92, ls6, tfs head hydro or solid roller?

car is sporting 5000 stall, 4.30 gear. will be single plane ported intake and 1000cfm carb. motor somewhere around 11.5-12.0 compression.

TXCAMSS has done it pump gas, hydraulic roller w/ a 408 and some really good ported 5.3's i believe.

i think they're running a FAST intake too...

i dont know about a lot better, but maybe more streetable.

you can run a way bigger/better cam with your new heads thats why they make so much more power ;)

L92's < Trick flow 235's :) TF you have alot more room to make more power ;)

Done several engines that run there but the car is what really needs to be there as well.

I'm at 3200lbs raceweight and had the wrong torque converter in my car and i almost saw 9s.

My goal for 2009 is 9.50 N/A.

he had a stock 6.0 block with stage 1 patriot ls6 heads flowed under 300cfm and a mid size cam and it was a high 10 sec car. His car works great!

Get rid of everything you don't need.

front bumper support
door bars
carpet
e brake handle and cables
cruise control
hood
windshield wipers and tank
both airbags
steering wheel
seats
seat belts


That's about it, I still have stock k member,brakes, abs.

Plus I only weigh 155lbs :)

I ran quite a few 9.8's @ 134-135 mph N/A with my old 402. Like racer7088 said, the car has to be able to run there as well. Good luck with your build.

the more i look at it, the more im gonna be short. weight is going to hold me back for the most. part me, part car. haha.
got started on the shortblock today. hope to get some free time to get her finished up and in the car.
doing a cage now, so i wont have results as quick as hoped.

it might get a bigger stick before i go solid roller.
all depends on what its gonna weigh when i get done hacking.
the car is untouched, and actually has about 20-30 pounds of sound deadening in it. you know. street car. most of that is going to come out. what i can scrap out anyway.:bang:
