Default Should I Mill My PRC 5.3's

Next month am going to install a set of PRC Stage 2.5 - 5.3 heads along with a Comp XER273HR 224/230 3581/.588 cam. Should I mill these heads for a bump in compression? If so, how much?

My car is an '01 vette which has 4:10 gears and a MN6.

thanks

We took 36 thousands off of my prc 5.3s, i also have a custom gind 24x/25x @64x lift.
it put me @ 58CC which should give me 11.6:1 compression with a i believe .45 thickness head gasket

depending on what compression ratio you want is how much you need to mill the heads. be sure to check PTV clearances as well

hope this helped

you can but you will probably have to flycut the pistons. ALWAYS check PTV.

You can definately mill those heads if you want to. Milling them down .020" would take the chamber down to ~59cc and still leave you with enough PTV. I always recommend checking PTV on any cam or head swap but this set up should clear as we have done a few set ups similar to this in the past.
