Best under the curve cam?
Okay, I have been searching for about a week now, and this is what I have came up with. AFR 6016 (224/228-.581/.588-114). Vengeance Racing VRX3 (226/228-.585/.588-114) and TSP 228 (228/228-.588/.588). The car is a 02, M6 Camero. all the bolt on's, stock bottom end and a Daily Driver. Last dyno was 370 RWHP. Oh! I am also adding a set of AFR 205's milled to 60-62 cc.And a Fast set-up. I would like to know what you guys think ( besides the standerd, that's a ***** cam. lol) Pred-Z and Pat-G please feel free to jump in.

224/228 on 114. I just installed the AFR 6016 cam in my Z06...went from 385rwhp to 432rwhp with stock LS6 heads and intake. Torque jumped from 355 to 392. Power increase all over the place and great drivability.
Stay on the 114 LSA if you plan to mill the heads. Anything smaller and PTV clearance issues will be a problem.

I spent a WEEK on the dyno playing around with a lot of different 220ish cams....ultimitely deciding on the specs of our 6016 cam wasn't an accident. It simply showed the best overall power curve of the bunch with decent bottom, killer midrange, and solid high RPM pull as well.
Its just a tough combination to beat not to mention its proven (there must be a hundred happy owners of that cam).
Need more proof....
Here's an "in car" track video I took with my original 346 H/C bolt on C5...I'm clicking off these shifts at 7K and as you can tell its not laying down....that was the optimal shiftpoint for this combination
Aaaaaaahhhh.....damn....have that vid on my computer at AFR. Im going to be there tomorrow for a little bit. I will update this thread with a link then.

Carefull Tony, with international cam experts on here you could get hammered by saying anything with 224 in it. Dont you know that if you have to have a unique understanding of valve events and that unless you run a big cam you don't know anything about cams

I know it's too much to get into bringing up the aspect of it on a low boost procharged car.

For boosted cars I would add 4-6 degrees to the exhaust side and add one degree to the LSA to cut back on the additional overlap that would create.
So a 224/232 for instance on a 115 LSA would be a good all around blower cam....honestly with a blower you could even go a tad smaller on a 346 but the previous cam I mentioned would make big power assuming good heads, adequate exhaust system, etc.

Same Mustang Dyno and dyno operator before and after. Intake air temps were 8-10 degrees cooler (intake air temps were in the low 70s) when the cam was dynoed. A/F ratio was set at a conservative 12.6, timing at 26-27 degrees, 93 octane. I just installed bigger injectors since I didn't plan on such a large jump in power with the cam. Duty cycle jumped from 87% max to 101% after the cam. SVO 30lbs (34-36lbs at 58psi) just brought the duty cycle down to 78% max.

personally i like the consistency of the tr 224 cam the power is broad and even to redline where as some of the bigger cams drop off quite a bit up top tq wise

If I already had the AFR 205 heads and you're adding the FAST intake, I would simply follow Tony Mamo's receipe. That combo has proven results. I wouldn't expect the 480 rwhp Tony got only because he spent a ton of time and money making his combo perfect. I would expect 440 - 450 rwhp for the avage build using his receipe. I'm not taking anything away from Tony's results, but remember he spent a ton of time and energy tweaking everything to get the ultimate performace from his combination. I certainly appreciate and respect his efforts.
All the cams listed by the OP are cams I am considering as well. By the specs, they look very similar; however I do not understand how the cams will vary the valve events and thus effect the torque curve of the engine. Can anyone advise what the differences would be between these very similarly spec'd cams?
