Default 4.3L TT Swap

I have a '96 3800 Firebird with about 135,000 miles on.....This spring I want to swap the 3800 out for a 4.3L V6 and throw 2 turbos on it...I need to know if this has ever been done before and if it is at all possible, and what exactly would be involved....personally, i've never seen this done before, and I want something that no one would expect......thanks for the help

just turbo the 3800, is a 9.4:1 ratio so it has some room to put some boost to it.

i would swap out the 3800 for one out of a gtp poncho or at least get the s/c off of it, those 4.3's leave a really bad taste in my mouth

There's nothing wrong with a turbo 4.3. GMC Syclones kick ***, but I don't know if the intake for one of those will fit in a 4th gen

Sure its possible, anything is. Its not going to be easy, your not just going to be able to bolt it up "cause it use regular small block mounts" like Bubba told you, you better be able to fabricate parts.

You're probably best off to turbo or supercharge the 3.8. The 3.8 is one of the best motors GM ever made, the series II 3.8 had a S/C on the 97-03 GP GTP's. Also the 3.8 in the F-Bodies is just a newer version of the one used in the Buick GN's. So I'd personally keep the 3.8 unless you do an LT1 or LS1 swap.

How about an LC2 swap? Find a complete GN motor & trans and swap that in. A guy our GN club has a firebird he did the swap in, It's not that bad to do...

I like the 4.3 idea. I HAVE A 4.3 in my 91' S-10 and it still roasts the 33's. A freash 4.3 with two turbos will kick ***
