My friend just bought a 2005 WRX STI. I have to say... I am impressed. The thing f-ing moves. I would have to say that third gear is the most impressive. The speedo jumps real fast. It just seems like you are going slower due to the lack of torque. We are going to the dragway in the spring. Should be close! gonna come down to driver. I got this...

long tubes, catback, and a tune should be plenty to handle the STi on the street, track, roll, dig, whatever... as long as he doesn't go nutty with the mods over the next few months.

A kid I work with just bought a modded 04 STi. Has header, up pipe, turbo back exhaust and is cobb tuned. I work on Subaru's all day but really dont follow up on the enthusiast part of it all..

anyway I wasn't sure I could beat him cuz I went for a ride and it pulled like a motherf#$ker, but when your in the passenger seat it always seems faster I think.

So we lined up at about 20mph, 3rd honk and he jumped a fender, but as soon as he shifted I yanked him back and put about 1 - 2 cars on him by about 110.
I wouldn't mind one for a DD.

Anything done to his car?

It's stock. I got a ride in it while it was snowing today. AWD is cool. Just a little boring if you ask me. Definately useful though.
