Default Well I couldnt stay away long lol

Going to pick another LS F-body tomorrow. My goal with this one is a super reliable 9.80-10.00 street/strip/bracket index car.

Kinda like my old Trans Am was about three years ago before I wanted to go faster

Going to be a D1SC procharged (of course), 346 most likely with my old trans and converter that I kept, stock PCM . I can honestly say I had the most fun with the old TA when it had a 6 pt roll bar and had the Z06 cam/D1SC and ran 9.70-10.0s all day on 100 unleaded and could hop in it and drive it anywhere..

I agree.

Its easy to lose the 'fun' factor of a car going too fast.

Na, after two trips from the local sheriff, setting off the smke detectors in the house, kids crying, wife giving me dirty looks and my neighbors starting to organize an angry mob - all the first time I fired it up - I decided going back to the 70s wasnt the best thing to do.

You will be hearing from me soon enough Bob, I think I am going to use your FMIC setup on this one, it has the twins on it now. Most of my old pipes were pretty wrecked from the wheelstanding incident so time to start fresh.

its this car here:

https://ls1tech.com/forums/vehicles-...-firehawk.html

Mike has been around for a while and it looks like he did some nice work on it. I always liked Tom's (Onfire) firehawk and think they are good looking cars.

Going to just take the stock engine thats in it and do good rods/pistons, use some patriot or whatever heads, same cam thats in it and use the FLP headers. Going to do drag brakes, k-memeber and similar suspension to what I had. Seeing I ran 9.17 with a similar cam and Dart heads with the D1SC I'm sure 9.70s or so should be fairly easy. I'm almost tempted to try to run 9s with the stock shortblock but I hate to ruin the block if a piston lets go..

I did not think you would stay away that long! I will also add the car looks very good! It seems kinda of familiar to me! It does appear the owner did a great job with it!

PM me with the items you are looking at doing away with (i.e. Brakes, 12 bolt, other items)!

Have a safe trip going to get it!

KP, not sure you'd be interested but a friend has this for sale (post from another thread):

A good local friend of mine has an F1c and FMIC setup with VERY little miles, 8 rid SDCE pulleys, possibly selling TB and elbow with it. It ran back to a single plane aluminum intake. Right after he moved from an M6 to an 4l80, the car went 9.20s at pretty much full weight with it. If you may be interested in talking to him, shoot me a PM and I will give you his cell #. He is a very trust-worthy guy.

He never posts about his ride himself... Here's the car and the setup when he had the blower on it:
