Default rod and main bearings ?

how often should these be changed. i know it may be a waste of time and money but i like to overdo things. also they are the life of the motor with nearly 80 passes and everyday driving (app. 35,000). I dont think its a waste of money but only insurance. I need to change rod bolts and install my heads and i dont want to do it in the truck so its coming out.

Depends on how often you beat the crap out of it. A good set of Bearings with a good Oil Pump should last a while.

i bought the motor almost 2 years ago, on the tag from when they recieved it in or pulled it from the car said 900 miles. they said it had been in the insurance bin for 6 years and had came out a few months earlier. its from a 2000 T/A. I got it home pulled the heads and #1 and #3 cylinders had some pitting from sitting in the shop and rusted a little. both cylinders had one spot in them about 1/4" x 1/4" and roughly .006-.010 deep. so i had the block honed a little and new rings put in. all in all its got roughly 35,000 miles on it from me
