Default Differences btw 275 vs 285

Is there really any difference btw these two tire sizes? Noticeable or not really or does it depend on tire maker (bfg, nitto, kumho or something)?

just shy of a half inch wider then the 275 and a slightly taller sidewall.

i like the 275/285 look; although i'm gonna go with 245/285 for a cool look (17" street lights)

Yeah, I saw a camaro the other day w/ 285's on the back, and it was noticeably bigger. The height difference was more noticeable than the width. It wasn't much, but I could definately tell.

It depends on the tire manufacturer. 275 or 285 is the SECTION width not tread width. BFG has a wider tread than a Nitto for example.

Comparing tires by the same company you are looking at 4mm difference.
