Just what is needed on the shortblock to support an LS7 dry sump? In other words, if I wanted to run a different shortblock in my Z06, what would it need to have to plug in to the oiling system the same as the stocker? I know the cranks are different, but what besides that? Block? Front cover? Oil pump?

As far as the block goes, the oiling system is the same. It just changes with the external parts, like the pan, pump, front cover, etc.

Everything should just transfer over from the LS7, to whatever block you end up using.

The LS7 oiling system requires that u use a crank w/ the longer front nose (the 2-stage oil pump is thicker), and the LS7 front cover and bottom cover. If u get a shortblock that has a normal LSX crank, u will be SOL
