Smile New PB on the spray from a 150,000 mile stock long block at my final race of '08

The B.O.P.C finals were at Gainesville Raceway yesterday, so I took the Formula out for a beating.

'00 A4 3.23 gears with following mods:
MAC mid-length headers, ORY, Magnaflow catback, LS6 intake, ported MAF ends, FTRA, NOS #05168 wet shot kit with 120 hp set-up w/o purge, Jeremy Formato tune (in the middle of the road for nitrous use without higher octane gas).

Initial pass was a 12.942 at 107.88 with a 2.010 60 foot. DA about 900.

So I stuffed the bottle in the car with the heater on full blast for an hour to get it to 1000 psi. Got to the lanes and by the pass, it was down to 950 psi.

Launched at 1000 rpm, and since the system is on a full-throttle switch and it takes forever rolling into the gas to get to 3,000 rpm, I threw the switch on after counting "1-mississippi" (about a 2500 rpm activation, a common "bog" then sat me back!), run was:
2.057 - 60 foot
7.803 @ 96.44 mph - 1/8 mile
10.003 - 1000 foot
11.855 @ 121.90 mph - 1/4 mile

I know, I know, this thing needs a converter, but the trans and stock 10 bolt have 150,000 miles on them without a whimper, so I'm nervous to change it!

Car ran 5 N/A laps between 12.960 and 12.925, I went out round three in the bracket race on a -.010 red light But I had an .027, .015, .024 and a .007 (second round was a bye-run and I missed the 'tree bad!), so was a fun day!

Hope everyone had a good weekend (or if you raced, a great weekend)!

Derek

She's very close, 408 rwhp on the motor, finishing up interior and little things and hopefully on the road within a few weeks for shakedown mileage. Then next year, going for the 9's with spray!

Congrats Derek! Still got my stock 4L60E as a back up? That one only has 76K miles on it.

Hasn't moved an inch since I bought it! Maybe in a year or two I'll need it since I have a 10" 3000 stall waiting on a shelf and something tells me the stock A4 won't give much of a fight...

Nice runs Derek!

So long as you keep Torque Management in it, you'll be fine with that 3000 stall.

Sounds like a great event for you Derek, car ran fast and you had some killer lights as usual. Congrats on a good end to the season.
