Default Who wins heisman trophy vote now

The Heisman candidates have been announced. I am shocked that Harrell from tech wasn't included. But anyway, who do you think will win?

The trophy presentation will be at 7:00pm Saturday on ESPN.

McCoy and Bradford split the votes from this part of the country and Tebow repeats.

that would be hilarious.

Bradford will probably win, McCoy is gonna be a close second. McCoy is still getting a lot of love tho.

Even HeismanPundit said it's a coin flip and that guy usually has the inside scoop on everything.

Tebow wins because of the media hype.

ESPN's story read: TEBOW HEADS UP 3 HEISMAN FINALISTS

Then the tag line was: TEBOW LOOKS TO REPEAT

Tebow becomes the 1st Back to back Heisman winner, cause of his Media Hype and the SEC's pass defense helping him out, McCoy ad Bradford split the votes as stated so they got the poke'n there too......Let's just see how Tebow does aginst some of the toughest Pass defenses in the country all year long and see how he does then.....But fact is, te SEC maybe one of he toughest conferances, but they have lousy Pass defenses and poor selection of QBs..(not saying the QBs arent good, just not all that great)

I won't be too disappointed if Bradford doesn't win, because the heisman seems to carry a curse when it comes time to play the bowl games. Take look at the most recent Heisman winners and their bowl game just following winning the heisman:

2007 Tim Tebow, bowl game: L
2006 Troy Smith, bowl game: L
2005 Reggie Bush, bowl game: L
2004 Matt Leinhart, bowl game: W
2003 Jason White, bowl game: L
2002 Carson Palmer, bowl game: W
2001 Eric Crouch, bowl game: L
2000 Chris Weinke, bowl game: L

I'm thinking a repeat for tebow for heisman but he'll start the W column for bowl games.

I think Tebow will win, But I think Bradford deserves to win with Colt a very close second.

Unlikely, McCoy has another year to get it and most likely will take it next year if he keeps doing the 70%-80% completion thing

Here are what people who actually voted said:

As a precursor to what might be among the tightest national balloting ever to determine the winner of college football's most prestigious national award, 10 Rocky panelists with Heisman Trophy votes - two voters from each region of the country - labored to select Texas quarterback Colt McCoy as their 2008 winner.

McCoy received 42 points, Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford received 41 and Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, the 2007 Heisman winner, received 34.

But this newspaper's poll has served as a fairly accurate barometer in foretelling the official winner, correctly tabbing Tebow last season and, before that, predicting the winner in 17 of the previous 20 seasons.

Who did you vote for this year and why?

Buchanan: I voted for Sam Bradford because I think he had the most outstanding season. He had tremendous stats, showed great leadership, will play for the national championship. Even if the Sooners only loss he threw five touchdown passes.

Feldman: I voted for McCoy. He was great all year. Lots of people talk about how amazing Tebow has been since the Ole Miss loss. He has been amazing, but McCoy has been out of his mind the whole season. Bradford’s been outstanding too, but McCoy was just a touch better and I feel like he has carried a team with a bit less talent the OU group.

Carlson: I went with Sam Bradford. This might have been the most difficult decision I’ve made since I started voting in 1999. There were really compelling arguments for all of three of the players who ended up on my ballot — monster numbers, vital to the success of their teams, etc. — but in the end, I chose Bradford because he never had a bad game. You can’t say that about the others. Even in OU’s loss to Texas, Bradford threw five touchdown passes. Heck, he never even had a bad half. That won me over.

Here’s a breakdown of the race from the Florida Times-Union.

The Gainesville Sun contacted 98 Heisman voters and has Tim Tebow and Sam Bradford tied.

Heres my argument: Count how many weapons Tebow and Bradford have compared to McCoy and McCoy wins games without the strength that the other two have.
