Default cheap lowering job

One of my friends decided to lower his neon. He bought some metal blades and attached it to his weedwacker here is the video......

Ummm... is it just me or did he cut off a smaller coil than he has now? Not sure how well that would mount. I know the handling will not be right even if it does seat. If you decrease suspension travel you must increase spring rate and then have shocks to deal with the higher rate and less travel. His problem solving for not having a grinder however is interesting, I probably would have just gone and bought the $20 grinder from Harbor Freight though, meh.

I thought if you just cut up a spring like that, it distorts it's "absorption properties" ?????

Cutting off a coil DOES increase spring rate and what is wrong with it.

I cut a coil off my Stranos cause I wanted them to be like LGM G'2's And they are GREAT so sniff that........ Only I used a torch......

^^^^^^^^^J/K.......

I wouldn't change athing with my Strano's

Did they go back in because it looks like he cut off the smaller coil instead of the larger coil. Why wouldn't you just spend $30 on a 4" cutoff saw? I use mine all the time. It would seem like it would be hard to be very accurate with a blade on the end of a four foot pole....

Man, I'm glad he drives a slow Neon. Less chance of him hurting someone. Tell him not to procreate.
