Thumbs up Lid catback z28 out for a PB

So the first time i went out was at SIR here in tucson...horrible horrible night...best time was a 14.0 @ 103.5mph.. with a high 2.3 60ft. Needless to say I was unhappy and many people said slow blah blah and forgot to notice my DA was at 5400ft. Well this time around I went out to Speedworld in phoenix where the DA for the day ranged from 2600-2800ft. It was a really cool because I was with the AMG/SRT-6 group that consisted of about 17cars including my roomies c32. Anyway I borrowed some 255 gforce sport tires from a friend on his old formula rims. They were bald as hell but it gave me these times.

In order: 13.79, 13.56, 13.51, 13.24, 13.29, 13.33, 13.34 et
My best:
60ft: 2.20
1/8: 8.69 @ 85.1mph
1/4: 13.24 @ 108.43

best 60ft was a 2.198...lol that was a 13.29 @ 107.8mph
all the mph were from 106-108.

My roomies c32 an i average about the same times, his best was a 13.0@109, also almost ran dead even with a heavily modded c55.

right on, nice times. on a 2.21 60' the ole t/a went 13.24 also, but only trapped 103. lowered 2.25", had a lid and flowmaster muffler at the time. car went 8.4 @ 87 in the 1/8, but started acting up at the top of 3rd and 4th, i stayed in it, but it was struggling to build rpm. i later replaced the plugs and wires and found a couple wires that were falling apart. car runs much better now, but i haven't been back to the track. i put an ory on it and removed air/egr this fall, i'd like to get it tuned and make a clean pass, i think it has a 12.99 in it.

yea. i plan on doing some more mods but want to get some tires for the track, i keep reading that you have to worry about M6's and the rear...any specific 60ft in mind with that? could i cut 1.9-1.8's all day and be ok? or is it a random event?

just depends on how well the car hooks and how well you can drive it. i've had this car in the mid 1.9s, not all that tough really and i RARELY drive it. i've made 4 passes in it....ever. the rear can handle 1.6x 60', but only through an auto and hooking up. wheelhop is the your worst enemy and will most likely be very hard to control with a 6 spd. i'd say you can make the rear live if you're very careful, but how long is the question...it doesn't take much to break something.
