Does this need a rebuild....??
need a second opinion.. other than mine
these cam bearings looks WORN out to me... supposedly this motor only has 46k on it.. but if it does either some one pissed in the oil cap and never changed it or it has triple the miles... but copper is showing through the bearing surface as if the cam was ocilating in the cam bore.. I'm pretty pissed...
Need too know whether I should drop the 408 thats coming this week in the camaro and and rebuild the LS1 for the truck or the other way around...
so.. does it look like this motor is shoot or am I smoking large quatities of crack is a diet pepsi can....
also, can I just replace the cam bearings in the block and be golden?
yall think the rods and mains look the same way? because I do...

i disagree. when i took my 6.0 apart the cam bearings were smoked, but the rods/mains looked VERY good. i've seen a couple high mileage ls1 engines that had cam bearings similar to that, but the rods/mains looked excellent. just food for thought. i honestly would not mess with it, i've pulled bearings that looked worse than that and never made a sound or lacked oil pressure. bear in mind the cam turns at half the speed of the crank, so theoretically it is taking half the abuse.
