Default Jeep VS Colorado

Ok so me and a buddy did a stop light race the other nights. He has a 04 Colorado (auto) with the 3.5l 5cyl and is lowered. My jeep is all stock AWD 5.2l. I preloaded to 2400 and waited for the light to turn. When i finally happend i came out of the whole really good for a jeep and he spun a little bit. When we hit 70 i was about 4.5 cars a ahead and slowly pulling. I thought it would be a better race then that. I have rode in his truck a few times and it seems quick....... SO yeah since i dont have my camaro anymore i got to post my slow races lol

Those Colorados are pretty slow... I don't know about outrunning Mustang GTs in one, even if you could crack a 9.9. Which I doubt. Maybe an automatic convertible. I drove one before I got my Frontier ('05 V6/6spd), and the Frontier was definitely quicker.

He said he ran a consistent 10.1 in the 1/8. I never ran my jeep but it really is impressive for a 318. i really am debaiting on maybe doing some mods to the jeep for some extra hp. I have seen just longtubes and just cold air intake and some other random things really wake them up. I think would be badass to do a small cam and heads on it.

i agree. the 5.2 and 5.9 are good motors. if i were you id start looking for a 360 to swap in. get some head work done, put a intake on it, and slap in a nice cam and itll really wake up. oh and your 46re will need to be beefed up to handle those awd launches .

nice win.

Yeah i looked into doing that and then i realized that there is only a 25hp diffrence from fatory. Which isnt ****. and the 318 cam and heads and intake is alot cheaper. So i think im just going to do that or i also am thinking about doing a LS1 or 2 swap on it when i get the extra cash. Oh and yeah my trans already slips a little on those hard lanches so its getting a tune up soon.
