Default I am about to O.D. on all this!!!

Ok..I swear my brain is melting from all this..I need some help like Whitney Houston on Crack..I plan on installing Cam/Heads/Intake/LT/X-Pipe or H, maybe going down to 3:73 (but 4:10's are too much fun!)..Anyway..I know Ls6 Intake is a must from a Ls1, New Oil Pump, Double Roller. etc etc..I know all that..I have been reading Patrick G's Cam Write-up, and been scrolling the boards reading about cam's and heads..I'm totally lost now..I know 243 are better than 241's, but i could get some cheap 241's port them and be good but i loose compression, i don't want a track car its only gonna a be a street killer thats all..Vr3, VR2, MS3, those camshafts are almost the same but whats the difference?,,What is the best street cam here?, Should i use 1.7 adjustable or 1.8 or non adjustable rockers?..PVC..What springs are good matched with a head and cam will a VR3, with 918's on a P&P 241 clear?..Need Mad Help....Thanks Guys

You don't want 1.8s with the cam size your looking at 1.7s are what you need the stockers will be fine.

Just go with the 243s, a moderate cam, LS6 intake, 1.7 rockers and you'll be okay. That should make decent power...

A torquer cam will match you stall better than MS3 and don't go more gear than 3.73 for a street car.

BTW a NICELY ported set of 241's will make more power than stock 243's.

Mill them, lower the chamber volume. Just be careful about piston-valve clearance. I know of a low 10 second NA car with 853's. They have potential, and you can find em for like $100 on here.

I think if it's for a street car there would be better cam choices than the MS3/4. Don't you have to spin those pretty high to get good power.

I know the 224 and the reverse split 230 cam have great proven power, good under the curve power, and don't have to spin the **** out of it.

Just this is my .02. I don't have much experience with LS engines.

this is true..

although i dont buy into the ms3 isnt a good choice because it doesnt make power until blah blah blah.......
if your racing, your at WOT... which means your going to run all the way up until 6500rpms or whatever your shifting at.. other than that.. doesnt matter what rpms you make power or dont make power with...

that is the reason i recommended the torquer 2 or 3... both very good cams and a tad smaller than the ms3 ms4..

224 is a bit small for my taste.. i would go with at least a 230ish cam.. but thats just me.. and im no guru..

To the OP, what about the VRX4. It's kind of in the middle I also I think. I'm running that untuned at the moment and like it alot and cant wait to see the results after a good tune.
