Default whats the difference between ls1 and ls6 heads?

if i was to buy say MTI ls6 heads, would they work on my ls1??

Yes, they are a direct bolt on. LS-6's have larger runners and a diffrent exaust port design.

LS6 heads have basically the same ports as the 6.0L truck heads but the CC is smaller giving it a compression advantage w/o milling them. Yes you could buy LS6 heads for a stock LS1 but you would want or possibly need everything from LT's, an intake and definently a cam to take full advantage of those heads. Otherwise it would effectively be overkill to buy LS6 heads w/o some of those other mods in mind.

my car(2000 vette) has the flp LT, intake and a tr224.so im definatly lookin into heads next. so it looks like stage 2 ls6 heads are the way to go
