So I posted a thread on the old grand am owners club with pics of my car, never once did I state hey what do you guys think of it. Some people got on bashing the fact that i have a auto LS1. One guy gets on with a blown ford mustang GT saying that it is not fun to drive an auto sports car.. I replied and man these guys are just retarded they say their opinion I let them know mine they didn't like it so it went back and forth fuck that group of retarded inbreds.

I too prefer manual transmissions, but I don't bash on automatic owners. Both of my cars are M6's and I can pull on stock A4 cars all of the time (gears also play a big role in that). To each his own, a lot of people prefer the ease and consistency of an A4.
And yes, you should be able to take stock GT's all day.

I got that too, both of my T/A's were auto when I bought them, and everyone was like "oh, well that means its slow and you don't know how to drive". Bitch please. I have since swapped both cars to M6 but only because of the horrible reliability problems I have had with the 4L60E. You'll never shut people up about that, just learn to say I DISAGREE.

Ohh well. yeah the 4l60e is a lot better the 4t45e that comes in the grand am, if i have to get it rebuilt well then I will be looking into getting higher stall and a nice build to make it a little better.

yea that site can be frustrating at times, but its to be expected. since those cars went out of production a few years ago, you can only buy them used, and with them selling for $3-6, you can expect that the typical buyer would be high school age, or just out of high school. you shouldnt expect them to be too mature.

also, forums are there for talking shit. since theres not much a grand am owner can say about an LS1 F-body, they had to search, so they ended up with complaining about it being auto. i get shit on there about it too, yet the v6 grand am only came in auto, and 90% of the 4 bangers were auto.

I say just move on from them. they are obviously jealous (with the exception of the mustang dude, who has had a stick up his ass for years now).

I have heared it to about being a auto. I have owned manuals most of the years I have drivin. I just started to get into autos in the last few years. I have a fully built, Blown and Nitrous Mustang and would rather take out my Built & stalled Vette over the Mustang. Yes a stock auto is not that much fun. But a fully built & stalled auto is a blast to drive.

hell what a stock LS1 runs in the 1/4 take about 3 grand or more of work on a GA so you buy one with low miles otherwise the engine sucks for 6 grand and spend roughly 3 grand on turbo and custom turbo setup you are running with an LS1 and then ga is not street legal at this poin because you have to delete your egr. So... buy an LS1 for lets say you find one with low miles at the price i got mine for 8200 and spend about a grand on it ok 1500 on it you now have one that doesn't get traction but runs a quarter in what should be the high 12's hmm still street legl?? yes then do h/c and if you don't have an LS6 buy one and run your car should now be in the 11's with some ET's and decent control arms all which is about 12-13 k worth of total car price.

So... needless to say even an auto LS1 will punish the crap out of a grand am and it will do it 2 seconds faster while maintaining street ability. gotta love V8. Hahaha

I was pulling the same lap times or slightly slower than a pretty decently modified 94 GT at an autocross event. haha, they are slow when modified too. a buddy of mine has the fastest grand am, and its a 4 cylinder. i think he ran 12.6. fast for that car for sure, but hes the fastest (maybe someone has beat him, but if so, barely). for the msot part, the v6 guys run 15s.

the guy that caused the most issues was the S/Ced mustang guy. he has to know how slow those are stock, otherwise he wouldnt have needed a supercharger as soon as he bought the car.

um... first off, its 2.4L with a 5 speed manual. he has a custom built intake manifold, LS1 throttle body, GT30R turbo, 38mm TiAL wastegate, custom turbo manifolds, and i believe a built motor. the clutch and flywheel were prototypes, i know that. hes selling the stuff, with plans for a GT4088R turbo with a standalone computer.

he was putting 432hp to the wheels, his new plans will include 600+ to the wheels.

Manuals impress high school kids, autos win races.. I went from a m6 to an rmvb a3 and I enjoy it more than my m6.. The only way i would stay manual for racing is if i went with a pro shifted m4 but thats big $$$$$$. But i would perfer m6 than a4 on a street car just my .02 cents.

Yeah I understand that I would love an M6 but after driving my buddies truck I just didn'y want to have to deal with it. I may buy another LS1 camaro with an M6 at some point and either turn my current one into the track car or the next one we will see. My plans though are for a track car 74-75 camaro and building a 383 for it with a th400 tranny and 12 bolt rear. I may get a four link setup on it so I get some traction. I will see when I get there.
