Question TB Differences?

What are the visual differences between a 1998 TB and a 2001 TB? Reason I ask is because I bought one on ebay, but the guy said it came off his Weiand Intake and would fit 98-02. I don't know how to tell the difference so I can determine what I have. I bought it but don't need it now since i had mine fixed. Thanks for the help

On the ones I've seen, visuallt the throttle cable arm on the throttlebody is different on the earlyer TB, the newer ones are a wider and the earlyer ones are thinner were the cable itself runs around it and the newer ones need a different (longer I believe) throttle body cable but not sure on the cable (witch is witch).

I have been reading that the cam size is different which allows it to open faster or slower. Thanks for the responses

When I bought my ported and powdercoated TB it was off of a 1998 and I have a 2001 and the only difference I found was the water hose connections on it. I just used this as an excuse to do the "throtlebody bypass mod".

I have a 99 and when I put a ported TB I got with my LS6 IM on the cables were a tad bit too long. Which leads me to believe one of two things is true. 1. The newer ones have a smaller cam gear. or 2. The newer ones have longer cables.

The coolant tubes and the vacuum tube are the same on 1998-2004 TBs. Only difference is the throttle cam were the cable connects. Just swap your throttle shaft out if its different.
