Default My APS dyno results

I strapped my car to the rollers for the first time the other day and got some power numbers.
Some details:
Stock bottom end LS1, stock heads, LS6 intake, 222/222 cam.
10 psi, Alky Control meth kit & pump gas. 17.5 degrees of timing, A/F is 10.5:1.
This is through a 4L80E w/ unlocked 3600 stall, 12 bolt and 28" radials, so this is not a dyno friendly car.
This is on a mustang dyno, but I was told these are supposed to be dyno jet numbers.
The graph is in seconds, I didn't get a print out in RPM's. It was really weird looking in rpm's because the converter was flashing to 5500 +/-. This is the best "looking" graph I saw. I think this is why the torque number is a little low for the HP, the real peak torque is down much lower where I was pushing through the verter. The green line is supposed to be A/F, not sure why it's all over the place like that, my in car LC1 is pretty rock solid @ 10.5:1.
I made another pull with an additional 2 degrees of timing, it only picked up 8 hp, so I backed it off and left it @ 18.

This kit makes good power, but I am starting to see some turbo problems. I think I'm starting to loose some oil through the seals on both turbos. FYI, this is with the stock APS inlet tubes and filters in place.

Yes I realize 585 rwhp is pushing the limits of the stock bottom end.

Kurt, if you're reading this, thank you!

When I view my dyno sheets in time instead of rpm or mph, the time numbers are a bit higher, but the graph looks level, like yours. So those numbers might be a little on the high side. Mine was blowing through the converter, and the torque numbers look a little funny too.

If I recall the numbers were the same in time or rpm, just looked like a supra dyno because it was blowing through the converter so much.

I have an APS kit and that's about what I made on stock bottom end and on the springs. Good luck!

Oil coming out could easily be from the inlets sucking shut. Get the upgraded tubes or stent those open somehow. Did you do the pcv like aps manual?

I think for an auto the numbers look decent for only 10psi and pretty stock 346.What make of converter are you running again?

PI 3600 stall. PCV as per APS instructions. I would not have made the power I did with inlets sucking shut. This would have been 650 rwhp on a M6 car pretty easily. I gained 30 hp just locking the converter when the car was NA. I'm not going to lock it on a turbo car though just for a number, it would probably come apart.
Don't forget this is 10 psi on a 346, a lot of the numbers posted have been from 400+ cube cars.

look at the driver side turbo that is the one that gives me all the issuse
if you have oil before the turbo on the inlet side than its sucking shut

Those are awesome numbers for an unlocked auto on a mustang dyno. You have everything working against your car for high numbers. Alot of stock rear end,m6 on dyno jet guys dont get that.

sounds like pretty good numbers considering the rear and tranny setups. besides, theres only 1 real number that counts and you'll get that at the track.

Just thought I'd update this with some track times.
It went 10.54 @ 130.8 tonight, same tune as the dyno with pump 93 and meth.
That's with a pretty soft 1.60 60' on the foot brake. I couldn't get it to build any boost at the line, no 2-step. I also weighed the car, 3880 with me in it. God damn the car is an absolute pig.
The air was decent, it was cool but humid as hell; there was actually some fog at the big end of the track when I first got there. DA was probably about 1000.

Looks like a reasonable time for the boost level on stock displacement with that weight ,etc. Would be pretty pleased with those numbers. I am hoping to touch high 9s with my setup at near 140 much like JM did on his and that will be plenty fast enough for me.
Should have some times and dynos in three or four more months. Its winter up here car is put away.
What is altitude of that track?

I'd say the A/F looks that way b/c of the scale of the A/F for the chart.

Its not listing the scale for A/F on the right (you'd need to select that on the mustang dyno instead of the Boost Scale) and if you changed the scale to something that didn't show that big of a swing, your A/F would look alot smoother. If you look at the A/F Min-Max-Avg (10.1-13.1-10.9) those numbers don't look as much of a jump than the graph.

Also depending where the wideband was placed you could have gotten a little fresh 02 hitting the sensor if say it was in the tailpipe instead of the header.

Altitude is ~800 ft.
vetteboy, it's not the scale, but the sensor was in the tailpipe, maybe that's why.

Mid 10's 130mph 10 psi 3880 stock cubes, isn't reasonable, that's damn respectable.
Awesome numbers and times

Thank you, I'm pleased with the track times and dyno numbers.
I want to shed a little weight (race seats probably, maybe some from my fat ***), get a 2-step and try for some bottom 10's. I think 10.3's or better are possible with a little better 60'.
