3 Fords vs 02' CETA
1st was a 03-04' Mach 1 running approximately (corrected) 385 whp + 100 shot, and tall gears. Ran him with my 75 shot on my CETA from a roll of 30 and was close until 3rd where I pulled out 1 1/2 cars and let off around 100. This was a fast car.
2nd was a vert Mustang GT with exhausts, probably a 99' model...not much to mention but he really wanted to go so ran from 30 - 80 and pulled him by 1 1/2 cars letting off...this is with me starting off sideways at the get go.
3rd...finally got a little payback from a nasty Lightning that pulled me a few weeks ago on a short run. This was an unusual color of a purplish-blue mix that came up on 610. Had a run at 60-90 and immediately put 1 1/2 on him and let off, and then he wanted a slower roll from 40 which we did and again jumped 1 - 1 1/2 cars and let off. When we were lining up i saw him adjusting a timing control on his dash so figured he was spraying but not sure. It was definitely faster than the average Lightning. Another fast pickup.
All of these occured coming back from a get together in Conroe back towards Sugarland.

You sure that thing wasn't 460 With the 100 shot? that would have been a built FI mach/stang with 100 shot to make 560.
Either way...nice kills and I know your CETA is no slouch.

I was guessing at 01'...not a big Ford guy from a knowledge stand point but is a newer version. I was told those were his numbers from a person with him.
My car is "around 430 whp" and then add the 75 shot to that. I would not question that his car was pushing 500+ rwp based on our run. It surprised me when I saw him take off a bit earlier.

I had my windows up and was in the left lane...had a exhaust only 02' Z28 in the center, and he was on the right so did not hear anything but exhausts upon takeoff. It was built by a prominant shop here locally and hung with me well. I was running 500+ whp then so know his power was on up there, or he would have faded quickly. Can't tell you outside that.....just what his buddy told me a bit earlier.

Really, I will try and find out more...got me curious now...It does not seem logical that it would take 500 to a 425 whp Mach...weight could not be that far off.

Just pulled the specs on the 03' Mach 1...3380 weight, 3:55 gear stock and 305 hp stock...no way it would take 500 whp F-Body to hang with a 425 whp Mach 1....not logical.......unless it had 4:10 gears and some other modifications giving it a low end advantage. I would take that race anyday. My car weighs 3460 without me in it....
More info from online...In 2003 and 2004 the "Mach 1" nameplate returned. ... (manual transmissions only), making it capable of very low 13-second 1/4 mile ETs and ~106 mph trap speeds with an experienced drag driver. This is almost identical to what the LS1's indicate, performance wise.

Cory, come on man...don't mislead the poor guy.
but Ceta......430+100 shot and you still out edge'd him? Yuo have gears? Again, not calling BS, just really interested in the mods of htis mach.
500RWHP ceta against a mach hanging that close....wish I could have seen it.

Yes...I had 4:10's and 545rwtq anda sticky tire.....I walked on 450rwhp LS-1's from a roll all the time a dig would have been worse. Hell I made 300rwhp N/A....and would beat 350-360rwhp LS-1's from a roll....trust me a lot of people were in shock but it happened all the time. And I am not biased as now I have an 03 Cobra that runs very good and when I had my Mach I beat a couple ported and pullied Cobras....one was a very good driver and the other one spun...but thats racing.

Sure, did not mention driver differentiators as that can be big....I have been racing since I was 17, and am 42 now. I have run with the Penske team as a qualified driver (some years ago), and have had and still have some very impressive cars....driving is not a challenge for me. My GN is a much faster car than this one...
I saw your torque numbers and that looks to be an impressive car. My car has 3:42 gears so could see a jump with the gears, but that about it. Some cars do just run better....my Son had a 95' basically stock LT1 Trans Am and we would outrun LS1 WS6 cars at will...I saw it and still can't explain. Some cars just are built better than others...

Exzactly and now that I have an 03 Cobra that runs very good,.....I think it would all depend on the race between my Mach and my Cobra....like from a 40 the Mach would win. A dig on the street would be close...at the track where traction isnt an issue the Mach would win. But your right I would always jump out 2 cars froma 40 against LS-1's when I was on the bottle....steep gears with that much torque is hard to beat.

You to man...it seems you are very logical and have been around the scene for awhile...and I respect that. Most people would start calling me an idiot then I just post vids. BTW- Nice kills next time try and get a vid.

I do have some videos of the car running on my "Houston Muscle Car Cruise Thread" "Texas thread" against a few quick ones. I was by myself this time and kind of hard to hold a camera, shift, watch the road..all at the same time...lol
I did take a quick video of him in front of me afterwards...will post that later. Was a pretty nice looking car.
