Default Need a New Lid (larger)

I have a FAST 92 setup on my car... its on a 2002 Camaro Z28, with a 402...

I need a larger Lid,because I feel it may be limiting my perfomance, I dont have very large ports, and i only have a mild cam, but I still feel its gonna be limiting me since I have a FAST 92 on it...

Who sells a larger lid than the regular ones(78mm?) Im also running a 85mm MAF, But ill be ditching that to a straight bellow or pipe, since Im gonna go Speed density...

and preferrably if someone makes a clear lid, Id take that! Like MTI used to...

100 mm is too big, I guess 85mm is okay, if my only choices were 100mm and 85mm.. I think 100mm wont build enough velocity til higher rpms, for a lif ( i could be wrong) thats why I dont think 100mm is good for a street car.. But if it is prove me wrong!

I think the elbow on the lid (bend where it clears the radiator) even though it's almost insignificant can be the key link... I would kinda like to try out a 100mm lid on my stock setup just to see how it works out.

Well, a couple things.... The fasttoys lid is larger than 85mm. I think the intake inside diameter is closer to 95mm. Second for velocity, that's generated in the throttle body, so I wouldn't worry about that.

the ID of the Fast Toys Lid is 98mm.

And for the 85mm MAF, well the OD is 96mm and the ID is 90mm

You got it. The 85mm name is kind of misleading since the lid and MAF are both bigger than that.

Our Fast Toys lid also has the largest internal volume of any lid on the market right now.

If my lid is 78mm ID, Id probably want a 85mm lid if my ID of my TB is 95mm and my FAST is 92mm.....

My lid is a SLP btw...

were the MTI clear lids only 85mm? or not? who sells them?

Yes. All lids currently on the market are vacuum formed which mean they are two pieces of plastic bonded together.

damnit the clear lid is only 74mm?

how much is that??

Okay, so tell me this, is the 74mm lid gonna limit my performance that much? or is it not that bad?

The SLP lid I have also has the SLP CAI under it... and K&N.... to a 85 MAF(soon the be replaced with just a straight bellows) and aa bellow to the TB (95mm PTM)... FAST 92 unported...

with this setup is the SLP lid robbing me of airflow , enough to make more power?..
